Single-Use Services
Overlook single-use products undergo comprehensive processing in order to guarantee compliance, cleanliness and sterility, allowing our customers to rest assured that all components are ready for aseptic use upon recieval. Overlook Industries, Inc. believes that the future of liquid packaging lies in the flexibility and efficiency of single-use technology.
All Overlook single-use products can undergo the following pre-delivery procedures, per customer requirements:
- Heated ultrasonic passivation
- Particulate cleaning with hot WFI in Class 1,000 clean room
- Vacuum autoclaving for dryness
- Sterile packaging (multi-bagged)
- Gamma sterilization
- Third party testing
 OneShot single-use filler needles
Our line of innovative single-use products are anchored by our patent pending OneShot™ single-use filler needles.
The combination of plastic hub and stainless steel tubing allows our customers to experience the freedom of disposability while still retaining the utmost level of filling speed, precision and accuracy that our custom reusable stainless steel needles provide.
Teflon Coated Needles
- Problems addressed: Wicking (adhesion of liquid to OD of dispensing tip), drops hanging on tip
- Contraindications: N/A, aside from lack of necessity
- Description: Teflon coating solves issues with liquids that adhere to the OD or end of the dispensing tip. After multiple dispenses, the accumulated globule of liquid breaks off and can throw off volumes or land on machinery or containers. By ensuring that no product remains at the tip after each dispense, this issue is avoided.
"Rainbow" Coated Needles
- Problems addressed: Metal-sensitive products, wicking, dripping
- Contraindications: N/A, aside from lack of necessity
- Description: The "rainbow" coating is a halogen-resistant surface treatment called AMCX2286 (from Advanced Materials Coatings Express) that acts not only like Teflon to add hydrophobic properties to the needle, but also to protect the stainless steel from metal-sensitive liquids that fall at extreme ends of the pH range. It coats both the ID and OD of the needle.
Freedom Filler Kits
 Overlook Industries, Inc. believes that the future of liquid packaging lies in the flexibility to adapt to ever changing product and customer demands. Overlook Freedom Filler™ kits embody our eighteen year heritage of maximizing productivity, while providing the ultimate in customization and flexibility. Overlook Freedom Filler™ kits include all necessary components of the fluid path and can be provided particulately cleaned, multi-bagged and gamma sterilized per customer requirements.
Sizing:
- Fitted Kits: 0.5mm ID platinum-cured silicone tubing and up.
- Molded Kits: 0.5mm ID platinum-cured silicone tubing and up. (world’s smallest molded kits)
Clean Room Services
 Overlook has just completed construction of a clean room that is to be validated for class 10,000 operation. The validation process will start next week and will be administered by Microtest Laboratories of Agawam, MA.
When asked about the new addition, John Morin, president, issued the following statement:
“I am very excited to have a clean room here at Overlook. This room will grant us the ability to package pre-cleaned assemblies in-house while reducing the level of responsibility placed on our vendors, to control packaging conditions more precisely and also speed turnaround time of our Freedom Filler Kits and custom tube sets. Every process that we bring in-house lends itself directly towards Overlook’s guarantee that we will meet and exceed our customers’ expectations.”
John also noted that the clean room will be available for contract assembly work and not only for projects that include Overlook custom filler needles, although the latter is the main focus.
